” BA apologises after bed bugs complaint “

British Airways has apologised to a woman passenger after she complained of being bitten by bed bugs on two flights. Business executive Zane Selkirk, 28, said she had been bitten on a Los Angeles-London flight last month and a Bangalore-London service earlier this month. BA said it had taken the first jumbo jet Boeing 747 out of service and was investigating the second incident they should sort this out using pest control.

According to the online Daily Mail, Ms Selkirk, who lives in Los Angeles, posted her story, with pictures of her bed bug bites, on the internet after what she described as a poor initial response from BA. On the internet, she said: “During the first (flight), I turned on my light to find bugs crawling on my blanket and a bedbug-blood-spattered shirt. “On the return (Bangalore to London) journey, I left my 10-hour flight to find my body covered with 90 bug bites I contacted Pest Control London. The worst part was the non-existent customer service throughout the ten-day ordeal.”

BA said today: “Whenever any report of bed bugs is received, we launch a thorough investigation and, if appropriate, remove the aircraft from service and use specialist teams to treat it like pest control services london. “We have written to Ms Selkirk to apologise for the problems she has described on her trip and reassure her that we take such reports seriously.”
