   (Cimex lectularius)

Bedbugs are small insects active at night and feeding on human blood. They can infest homes and are best adapted to human environment. Adult bedbugs are 4-5 mm (1/8th – 3/16th of an inch) in length, oval, flattened and reddish-brown or purple, wingless with microscopic hairs and well developed antennae on their heads. Newly hatched insects are translucent and pale. Not difficult, since bedbugs do not move very quickly, can not fly and live in groups. During the daytime, the insects hide in bed frames, tiny crevices, wood holes and mattress seams.

Regarding bed bugs control we always perform two treatment within two weeks time. The price of each treatment starting from £50 so call us today to find out some more details.

Bed bugs are one of the hardest insects to treat and get rid of. The treatment will only work if the preparation have been done in correct way. The whole rooms which will be treated must be cleaned and vacuumed properly. All the wardrobes and drawers must be emptied and the clothes and bedding packed into the bags and removed from the rooms. All the clothes and bedding must be washed in hot water with a detergent and tumble dried. After this process you can reintroduce them to the rooms. Try to make sure that there is access to all skirting boards by moving the furniture within 10-20 cm from the walls. Do not remove any objects into other rooms as you may spread the infestation.

The infested and surrounding areas will be treated with the latest insecticides recommended for the purpose and will be HSE approved for its use. Our treatments confrom the regulations of COSHH (Control of Substance Hazardous to Health). The areas where the bed bugs will be expected to crawl as well as their harbourages will have to be treated. You will need to leave the property for at least 3 hours during the treatment.

Do not vacuum the carpeted areas that have been treated for at least two weeks. The walls, bed frames or any other surfaces must not be washed. All bedding and clothes must be washed. After two weeks before second treatment once again vacuum and clean the area which were treated and move furniture from the walls to make access to all skirting boards.
